Easy Strawberry Parfaits for your next party

As an event planner, one of my favorite things to do is to put together dessert buffets.  I love styling and what you can create by using your creativity, working with colors, textures and more.  The one thing that I don’t do as frequently is make my own treats.  My lovely and talented friend and baker Angela from Angel Cakes Bakery is a genus, so I usually leave that part to her.

For this baby shower, I really wanted to add something sweet and fruity that was easy to make and went nicely with our setting.  I chose to make a parfait (whipped cream, pound cake, sugar and strawberries) and added accents to add a little bling.  I have made this recipe many times before but click here for an easy recipe to follow.  This recipe by Straight to your hips Baby has a tablespoon of liquor added to it and uses whipping cream.  I used whipped cream and did not add liquor since it was a baby shower (although I may try it the other way next time).

For the vessels, I used these cute dessert cups from World Market and placed them on top of doilies for display.  My favorite part was adding gold glitter to the wooden spoons, waiting for them to dry and then tying them to the sides of the glass cups with ribbon.  I kept them cool in the refrigerator until the start of the party and then topped them off with one final layer of whipped cream and strawberries.  Take a look at how they turned out.

If you like desserts as much as I do, make sure to try these for your next party or get together!  🙂
