We planned a colorful Sweet 16 birthday party with cool tattoos, glam makeovers and lots of yummy treats! I wanted a birthday party with a unique theme so I decided to create a Kylie Jenner Inspired Birthday Party. We just love her style and what she has created as an entrepreneur and believe that we all can be girl bosses!
I was so inspired by Kylie’s feature in Architectural Digest. I loved her home and how it was a mix of modern and pop art. Her glam room was also a huge inspiration. Since we were planning a KJ inspired party, we added touches of her style throughout the party as well as our own play on her Kylie Cosmetics makeup line.
The treat stations were so fun to style for our Kylie Jenner inspired birthday party. We set up our birthday party at the beautiful Clayton on the Park in sunny Scottsdale Arizona which has a modern feel to it and was perfect for the set up. We used our specialty rentals (white grid iron backdrop, white pillars and candy cart) and added organic balloon garlands by Luz Balloons to add a nice pop of color. Marquee lighting was added by Desert Sage to represent the birthday girl turning 16.
The lip bar included yummy treats that were all “inspired” by Kylie Jenner’s make up line Kylie Cosmetics. The desserts were created by A Bake Shop and we were just in love with the lip themed cake, cupcakes and cookies! They were 100% kids approved!
Did you see the Lip Bar sign? We just loved what Deco Ink Designs made for us! It was just perfect!
Our candy cart display was filled with delicious caramel popcorn, pink twisted marshmallows and cotton candy flavored salt water taffy. Luz Balloons added beautiful pops of color to our display with teal, pink, purple, gold and white balloons.
I wanted the table setting for the birthday girl and her friends to be elegant but also styled for a kids party. The ghost chairs, linen and chargers added a bit of elegance and the gift boxes, balloons and pops of color from the flowers made it a bit more whimsical.
Neon sign and fringe Backdrop
Hello gorgeous!! Everyone just loved the neon sign! I have been a huge fans of neon signs and couldn’t wait to add this to the party. Our custom fringe backdrop was the perfect canvas. I just love these backdrops and always wanted to make one after seeing them for a while now on Australian party websites (which are always amazing by the way!!)
I wanted to add a little glam to our Kylie Jenner inspired kids birthday party. We loved her article in Architectural Digest which featured her glam room so we created a Glam Bar so the girls can have mini makeovers! We even added a few KJ inspired wigs (the girls had fun with these!!). And of course we also added tons of Kylie Cosmetics to the Glam Bar!
This was also the perfect time to add a little #girlboss quote to the party. We loved the “Just a girl boss building her empire” cup we purchased from Hobby Lobby.
We also set up a fun tattoo bar for the girls since Kylie has tattoos of her own. The tattoo bar was stocked with glitter, metallic, temporary and real matte tattoos. We have been throwing tattoo parties for years now and they have remained one of the most popular activities for our parties. They are so versatile and can be customized for any event such as kids parties, baby showers, brand activations and corporate parties.
Edible Cookie Dough
We had the coolest catering bike for the party. Unbaked (located in Scottsdale Arizona) has a fun bright pink catering bike stocked with the most delicious edible cookie dough. As you can see from this photo, the kids absolutely loved it!
We just loved these marquee props from Desert Sage. These props were so fun!
Our birthday girl was just the sweetest and was so excited for the party! We even had the party on her actual birthday.
